Where I Receive Flowers
It has been a while Dear Readers, and for that I can only apologise. The long and the short of it is that MS has laid me low these last few weeks. MS is a horrible, insidious disease, which comes and goes as it pleases. When it arrives, it brings pain, fatigue and total frustration with it. I have been getting through the day on what the Delightful Mr F describes as sheer grit and courage.
It is at times like these that you find out who your friends are. Most will melt away, embarrassed or scared, or unable to know what to do or say. Then they don’t come back. The Delightful Mr F is my rock. He looks after me, makes sure I get the rest and nutrition I need, and most of all, keeps my spirits up. When I arrived home from work on Friday utterly exhausted, he met me at the train station with a lovely bunch of flowers. I have never been so glad to see someone in my life.
Two friends you will have seen mentioned on the blog before, Kate and Caroline, both of them photographers, but also kind and lovely individuals cheered me up no end yesterday when a bouquet of spring flowers arrived, wishing me lots of R&R. The three of us met and bonded over photography. They are good, kind and most of all supportive pals, who know just the right thing to say and do.
By Saturday lunch time, I had two gorgeous bunches of flowers, a charged battery in my camera, and just enough energy for about half an hour of shooting. What was I to do? All of these were taken under natural light.
So thank you Delightful Mr F, for everything. And, thank you Kate and Caroline for being so lovely. When I am back on my feet, let’s go photograph together.
