Helen In Lack of Blog Post Shocker
I have been a very bad blogger indeed. I have failed repeatedly to schedule any blog posts whatsoever in the last few months. To make matters worse, I am, at this very moment, committing that terrible blogging sin of typing this post straight into Squarespace. No drafting, no editing, no checking for grammatical or typing errors. This is blogging on the edge. It's risky, but hey, you never know, I may produce blogging gold. Or maybe not.
Where I Take The Sea Air In Bournemouth
The Delightful Mr F and I had a few days off recently. With the sun shining, we headed down to the coast for some sea air. I thought I would take the opportunity to experiment some more with Intentional Camera Movement. Arriving at the sea front, it was what one can only describe as bracing. The wind was biting, but we were at the seaside, and so didn’t care.
Where I Follow A Brain’s Foto Guide
A few weeks ago, The Delightful Mr F and I headed off to Bath for a photography morning. I wanted to try out my new Fuji lens, the XF 16-55mm f2.8, and The Delightful Mr F wanted to try his new 21mm f2 lens on his film OM1. Also packed in our kit bag was the marvellous Brain’s Foto Guide for Bath.
Where I Receive Flowers
It has been a while Dear Readers, and for that I can only apologise. The long and the short of it is that MS has laid me low these last few weeks. MS is a horrible, insidious disease, which comes and goes as it pleases. When it arrives, it brings pain, fatigue and total frustration with it. I have been getting through the day on what the Delightful Mr F describes as sheer grit and courage.
A Photographic Disaster in Devon
Well, what can I say? The best laid plans of mice and men…
Over the New Year break, The Delightful Mr F and I pottered down the M5 to Devon, one of our favourite photographic haunts. The weather forecast was fair, some sunshine, some cloud. There was also a hint of a clear night, just right for some astrophotography. Camera kit unloaded into the cottage we made plans, oh how we made plans!
Where I Photograph People Running
Each year, Fleet, the town in which we currently reside, has a 10k road race. Lots of people take part, some serious runners, some new to running, and some running for charity. This year I decided to go and photograph the event. I do very little in the way of sports photography, so this was an adventure as I had no idea whether I would manage to capture anything reasonable.
Where There Is Music, and Singing, and Dancing, and Joy
On Saturday night I had the privilege to photograph the fantastic Champagne at the Blitz. They are the lovely Sarah, Jenny and Caroline, who sing 1940s and 50s music, as well as modern day tracks in perfect harmony. Go over to their website and listen to some extracts, then buy their CD. It’s brilliant.
Anyway, back to Saturday night. The trio were performing at a charity event for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care. It was packed full with 200 people, many dressed in vintage clothing.
